Day 16

A picture of someone who inspires you.

Logan Michael inspires me everyday. He makes me want to be the best I can be. I am not perfect by no means but I try my best everyday to make sure my little guy is taken care of. He deserves the best and I love him to the moon and back.

If Logan's paci is not in his mouth...you can bet his fingers will be. Logan is getting some more teeth in so he is constantly chewing on his itty bitty fingers. Poor little guy. I would much rather deal with "growing pains" then heartbreaks that he will have later in life. Right now I can kiss his boo boos away.  : )

Speech Therapy Update:

Logan's speech therapy at Portsmouth Naval was denied because they have reached their maximum amount of patients that they see. I have been calling around to suvillian speech therapists and the waitlist is unbelievable! I contacted a company today and things seem good with them. I am to be contacted within another week to set up an appointment. The good thing is they actually come evaluate right at your house! That is a HUGE plus for Logan. I feel like in his own environment he will do much better. I will update you as soon as things get rolling with that.

This is definitley random but I have a facination for sharks. Especially great white sharks. I have never seen one in person. However, I would love to get in a cage and see one up close before I die. I think that it would be awesome. I will be frightened to death and probally have an anxiety attack if I ever really attempted this....but it would be worth it! I can see my friend Danielle reading this right now and laughing at me. hahahaha...I am actually laughing right now thinking of her laughing at me. Never in a million years would anyone ever guess that I would choose this as the answer to this question. : )

Day 14

I know I could only choose one picture but I had to choose two people for this question. Logan and Jack are my heart and soul. I would not want to think for even a second they were not sharing my life with me.

Williamsburg and Big Boy Bed

Everyone knows that Logan has had issues sleeping in his crib. He has been sleeping with Jack and I for a while now. We finally decided to turn his crib into the toddler bed the other day. I put Logan down today for a nap in his big boy bed. He got in and out of the bed several times. I thought that was a good sign. Usually when I put him in the crib he would throw a BIG fit. It took him a little while to go down but he finally did! First nap a success in the toddler bed. He slept for about an hour and I was so HAPPY!

Jack and I had a nice date in Williamsburg the other day. My parents had a good time with Logan too! I am sorry that I do not have many pictures from our date. We just really enjoyed each others company. Honestly, I really did not think too much of taking pictures, we were having fun! We took the ferry into Williamsburg. I love that! Just check out the Yankee Candle store in Williamsburg. It is HUGE and we LOVE it!

Sweet Spinach Salad

Dressing Mix

3 TBSP Orange Juice
2 TBSP Sugar
2 TBSP Cider Vinager
1 1/2 tsp Chopped Onion (I use minced onions)
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Poppy Seeds
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil

Mix all ingredients in a blender (I put in a container and shake)

Salad Mix

15 oz. Drained Manderin Oranges (I use more...2 15 oz.cans)
1 Bag Spinach
1/3 Cup Toasted Slivered Almonds (toast in oven at 350 for about 2-5 minutes)

Do not put the dressing on the whole salad as it makes the spinach whilted.



I have to admit, the first time I had this salad/dressing I was not a big fan of it. This is one of those that grew on me the second time I ate it. YUM! I really do like it. This is a great recipie for summer! : ) I can not seem to eat enough of this lately!

This was a tough one because I like a lot of songs. Also most of my music time consists of Logan's music that he likes. However, I really do love Lady Antebellum. American Honey is one of my favorite songs. I think this is a great group!

Day 12

A picture of something you love.



This goes without question or hesitation.....I am in love with my man and I love my little boy. We are like peas and dumplings together.  : ) . "God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you." ~Rascal Flats. I am so blessed to have both of these guys in my life. He loves me for me and I trust him with my whole heart.  Logan is my heart and soul.

Jack and I had a nice date in Williamsburg yesterday. Logan had so much fun with his Mommom Joy and Poppop Michael. We appreciate my parents coming down so Jack and I could enjoy some much needed time alone together. : ) I hope everyone's weekend was fabulous!

Day 10

This picture depicts a little child with lack on knowledge, hence ignorance, of the fact that he could get hurt doing what he is about to do simply because he is just a child. This is not the type of ignorance I hate...keep reading.

Hate is such a strong word. I do not like to say that I hate anything. However, I do not like ignorance. The kind of ignorance I am talking about springs from people that are unkind, selfish, disrespectful...etc.  I do feel like are still a lot of good people left out there but there are still those that would love to break your spirit down and see you crumble. I do not have any room in my life for people like this.

Ok. I am done. I really do not like to post downer posts such as this. However, this question was part of my picture challenge and I am determined to stick to it!

I have been cleaning away today! My parents are coming in town tomorrow to take care of Logan. Jack and I are going on a date all day and for a good part of the night. I am EXCITED! I will take my camera along of course...maybe I will get a few good pictures to share with you.

Mini Star

I have been sending in pictures of Logan to Live with Regis ad Kelly for over a year now. I did this in hopes that they would show it at the end of their show during their inbox segement. Jack and I were actually eatching Regis and Kelly this morning before he went to work. However, we turned it off about halfway through. BIG MISTAKE! My friend, Catherine calls me and said, "I just saw Logan's picture on Regis and Kelly!" Well I could not believe that I missed it. They are supposedly going to post it on their website tomorrow and I will post the link in a post. I am so excited over this!

Day 10

I love this.

Whenever I want to get a few pictures of Logan he always runs away from me. I can not really blame him. However, one day he and his future wife will appreciate these pictures. I know I do. I love pictures of my baby boy. It is such a nice day today I took Logan to a little field nearby so he could run around. I took him shopping too for a few spring things. I do not know about you but I am tired! I know I really can not complain because I am a stay-at-home mom but.....I get tired too! I think it is time for a nap. Logan is taking one right now. : ) Have a good day.

Audiology Evaluation and Day 9

We are back from Logan's appointment with the Audiologist at Portsmouth Naval. They took a picture of the inside of Logan's ears and he passed with flying colors. There was also a test where there would be sounds made to see if Logan would react to them. He did not react to much of that but that is not uncommon for kids his age. Kids Logan's age just do not care about that part of the exam. The Audiologist also said that it did not help that Logan had just woke up from a nap either. He was able to tell me very confidently that Logan's hearing is fine. He is followed up again in a year. I am one happy momma. : )

Now for the dreaded speech therapy evaluation. We are still waiting on the referral to be reviewed then I can make an appointment.

I do not know how I would had made it through some rough patches in my past if I did not have my heavenly father to lean on. He has been there for me in good times and bad and even during times when I did not even deserve him.

Day 7

A picture of your most treasured item.

If my house was burning down and I could only save one item in my house...(this being a scenario that every living person and animal were outside and safe)...I would grab all the pictures that I can. All of my newer pictures are saved in places where I can retrieve them from anywhere. However, all my old pictures are not so they are irreplaceable to me.

The purple and yellow flowers have always been a sign to me that spring is almost here. They are also a reminder of my childhood as well. I know they are just weeds but I still like to call them flowers. : ) I am so ready for warm weather.

Logan goes for his Audiology evaluation on March 23rd at 8:30 am. I do not forsee any problems at this appointment. I feel like Logan's hearing is normal. Just this morning I let our dogs outside. We were inside and the tv was on, he could hear one of our dogs barking. I know he heard it because he always smiles and laughs when he hears the dogs bark outside. I have even whispered words Logan can say to see if he hears me. He says them back to me in a whisper too.

We are still waiting for Logan's speech therapy referral to go through. This is the appointment I dread.

This is a little hurdle we are going through right now. Unfortunatley, this little hurdle has also brought on much anxiety for me too. I will update you as soon as I find out something.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Especially Logan. I so wish it was me that was going through this and not Logan.

I titled this blog cupcakes and haircuts because that is what seemed to be the highlight of the evening. We got together for dinner with our friends Katey and Matt this weekend. Logan's buddy, Landon is their son. I made cupcakes to celebrate St. Paddy's Day a day late. The boys LOVED them. : ) Dinner was really yummy too! We all also decided that the boys could stand to have their hair buzzed too. This was not technically Logan's first haircut because I have trimmed it up before myself. However, this was Logan's first major haircut all over. He freaked out with the trimmers but we rewarded him with a cupcake. It was a lot of fun!

Day 6

Before I had a child the answer to this question would had been very different. However, I would want to trade places with Logan so I could see the world from his eyes. He was giving me a dafodil in this picture. Aw! Love him.

What a fun day this was! We have been wanting to take Logan to the aquarium in Virginia Beach for a while. We were so glad to finally bring him here today. He had a BLAST and was running around looking at everything. It is so much fun to see him enjoy himself so much.
